The Lie of the 'Digital Entrepreneur': Why 200-hour courses are killing your business before it even starts.

A toxic industry has grown around unemployment and entrepreneurship. They tell you that to start an online business, you need 200 hours of courses and to master 15 design tools. That's false. I know this because I've guided over 500 real projects. I'll explain why the course you're about to pay for will cost you 6 months — and how to avoid it.

Minimalist visual comparison between 20 chaotic, crossed-out tools and 3 essential elements (laptop, orange payment card, teal AI agent) — a metaphor for the minimum viable stack
Quick answer: 200-hour courses create an illusion of progress but 0 clients. Jaraba Method 90 days: raw diagnosis + minimum stack (landing+payment+AI) + first real sale. 500+ projects endorsed.

A toxic industry has taken root around unemployment and entrepreneurship in Spain. You're sold the notion that to launch an online business, you need to buy a 200-hour course and master 15 design tools. That's false. I know this because I've guided over 500 real projects.

And today I'm going to tell you four truths nobody tells you.

Myth 1 — "You need to master 15 tools before you start"

No. You need a single tool per function. And the important function isn't what they teach you in courses.

In 97% of the projects I support, the minimum viable stack fits on the fingers of one hand:

  • An honest landing page (not an elaborate €3,000 website).
  • A payment link (Stripe, Bizum or bank transfer — whatever works).
  • A conversation channel where you can respond (WhatsApp Business or email).
  • A AI agent that helps you respond, document, and escalate.

That's it. Once you make your first sale with that foundation, then you decide what to add. Not before.

Myth 2 — "The more training hours, the more prepared you are"

This is false and generates a psychological bias that experts in behavioral addictions know well: the illusion of progress. The more course hours you complete, the more you feel like you're "doing something," even if there isn't a single real client on the other side.

200-hour courses are not education; they are premium escapism. They cause less anxiety than picking up the phone and calling a potential client. That's why they sell so well.

Golden rule: if you've spent more than 40 hours studying without speaking to a single potential client, you're not building a business. You're just procrastinating with official permission.

The Jaraba Method: 90 days, a measurable victory

When I designed my intervention methodology, I established a non-negotiable rule: 0% fluff, 100% traction. The 90-day cycle isn't about studying; it's about implementing. Three clear phases:

  1. Raw Diagnosis (days 1-15). What can you do and who can pay you for it today? Not tomorrow, not when you finish the course. Today. If the answer is "no one," the business doesn't exist — you need to redesign it, not keep studying.
  2. Minimum Viable Stack (days 15-45). Honest landing page + payment link + a conversation channel + an AI agent. That's it. Zero unnecessary design.
  3. First measurable victory (days 45-90). Single goal: get paid for your first real invoice. Not "having a beautiful website", not "getting 1,000 followers". Get paid.

"The day you collect your first invoice, everything else changes. Before that, you're not an entrepreneur—you're a student with aspirations."

Myth 3 — "First the website, then the client"

The other way around. Client first, then the website. I've seen dozens of people spend between €1,500 and €4,000 on designers and agencies before having a single sales conversation. All of them failed. And not because the website was bad — they failed because there was no validated demand on the other end.

The website is built after the first 5 conversations. Not before. Because the first 5 conversations teach you the exact words your ideal client uses — and those are the words that need to be on your landing page.

Myth 4 — "AI is for engineers"

False. AI is for people with business acumen and limited time. In other words, for you.

A well-configured AI agent can:

  • Write the landing page in your voice (not its own) after a 10-minute interview.
  • Generate personalized sales proposals in 2 minutes, not 2 hours.
  • Document what you're doing so it doesn't all depend on your memory.
  • Answer basic customer questions 24/7 while you're delivering.

It doesn't replace your judgment. It scales it. And that's exactly the difference between a stuck freelancer and a growing business.

What to do today — if this resonates with you

If you've been circling your idea for months, paying for courses that don't lead to any real clients, and you feel like "something else is missing before you start"... I'm going to save you six months:

You don't lack. You have too much. Information, fear of rejection, and noise. What you lack is a method.

If you have an idea and want to start now: the method is documented, with real examples and at no cost on the methodology page. Step-by-step 90-day plan.
